Depart from Kampala or Entebbe early in the morning and begin your journey to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Enjoy stunning views of rolling hills, lush plantations, and traditional villages along the way. Stop at the Uganda Equator for a brief photo session and learn about the hemispheric division. Continue to Bwindi, arriving in the evening. Check in at a lodge near the park, where you can relax and prepare for the gorilla trekking adventure ahead.

After an early breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a briefing on gorilla trekking. Accompanied by expert rangers, trek through dense rainforest in search of a habituated gorilla family. Once found, you’ll spend an hour observing these majestic creatures in their natural habitat. The trek can range from 2 to 6 hours, depending on the gorillas’ location. After the trek, return to the lodge for a well-deserved rest. In the evening, visit the local Batwa community to learn about their traditions and way of life.

Depart Bwindi and drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park, famous for its diverse wildlife and stunning landscapes. Upon arrival, enjoy a game drive in the Kasenyi Plains, where you may spot elephants, buffalo, antelopes, and big cats like lions and leopards. In the afternoon, embark on a boat safari along the Kazinga Channel, a waterway teeming with hippos, crocodiles, and water birds. This is a perfect opportunity for close-up wildlife photography. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Begin the day with a guided trek in Kalinzu Forest, home to a large population of chimpanzees. Trek through thick forest vegetation, listening for the calls of chimps and watching them as they swing through the treetops. Afterward, head to Ishasha Sector, known for its unique tree-climbing lions. Enjoy a game drive in search of these elusive predators lounging in fig trees. Later, return to your lodge for an evening of relaxation.

Detailed Description: On the final day, enjoy an optional morning game drive to spot any wildlife you may have missed. After breakfast, begin your journey back to Kampala or Entebbe. Enjoy scenic views and optional stopovers for souvenirs or refreshments along the way. You will be dropped off at your hotel or Entebbe International Airport, marking the end of an incredible safari experience.

Yes, most travelers require a visa to enter Uganda. You can apply for an eVisa online through the Uganda Electronic Visa System before arrival. A single-entry visa costs $50, while an East Africa Tourist Visa (valid for Uganda, Rwanda, and Kenya) costs $100.
The best time to visit Uganda is during the dry seasons:
- June to August & December to February – Best for gorilla trekking and game drives.
- March to May & September to November – Wet seasons with lush scenery and fewer tourists, but some roads may be muddy.
Gorilla trekking requires moderate to high fitness levels, as the hike can last between 2 to 6 hours through steep and dense forests. Porters are available to help carry your bag and assist with challenging terrain.
Uganda is home to diverse wildlife, including mountain gorillas, chimpanzees, elephants, lions (including tree-climbing lions), leopards, giraffes, hippos, buffalo, zebras, antelopes, and over 1,000 bird species.
A yellow fever vaccination certificate is required for entry. Other recommended vaccinations include hepatitis A & B, typhoid, meningitis, and rabies. Malaria is present in Uganda, so anti-malarial medication is advised.
