Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be welcomed by our Arrow Trekking and Safaris representative, who will provide a detailed safari briefing. You’ll then be transferred to your hotel in Entebbe or Kampala for a relaxing evening before your adventure begins.

Depart from Kampala or Entebbe after an early breakfast and drive towards Queen Elizabeth National Park, passing through picturesque villages and rolling green hills. Arrive in time for lunch at your lodge before embarking on an afternoon game drive. Spot a variety of wildlife, including elephants, buffalo, lions, leopards, and antelopes in the Kasenyi Plains.

Wake up early for a sunrise game drive when predators are most active. Drive through Ishasha Sector, home to the famous tree-climbing lions. After a rewarding wildlife experience, return to the lodge for lunch before heading out for a boat safari on the Kazinga Channel. This waterway connects Lake Edward and Lake George and is home to one of the largest concentrations of hippos and crocodiles in Africa. Expect to see elephants, buffalo, and numerous bird species along the shores.

After breakfast, depart for Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and home to more than half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas. Along the way, enjoy scenic views of the Kigezi Highlands, often referred to as the "Switzerland of Africa." Arrive at your lodge in the afternoon and relax in preparation for the next day's gorilla trekking adventure.

The highlight of your safari—gorilla trekking in Bwindi! After an early breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a briefing before embarking on a guided trek through dense rainforest. The trek can take anywhere from 2 to 6 hours, depending on the location of the gorillas. Once you find them, spend one unforgettable hour observing their behavior, interactions, and playful nature.

After your trek, return to the lodge for a well-earned rest, or opt for a community visit to a Batwa pygmy village, where you’ll learn about their unique culture.

Depart Lake Bunyonyi and drive to Lake Mburo National Park, a small but diverse wildlife reserve known for its open savannah, acacia woodlands, and rich biodiversity. Arrive in time for lunch before heading out on an evening nature walk guided by a ranger. This unique experience allows you to get close to wildlife, such as zebras, giraffes, impalas, and elands.

After breakfast, drive back to Kampala or Entebbe, with a stop at the Equator Line for a quick photo opportunity and shopping for souvenirs. Arrive in the evening for your airport transfer or hotel drop-off.

Yes, most travelers require a visa to enter Uganda. You can apply for an eVisa online through the Uganda Electronic Visa System before arrival. A single-entry visa costs $50, while an East Africa Tourist Visa (valid for Uganda, Rwanda, and Kenya) costs $100.

The best time to visit Uganda is during the dry seasons:

  • June to August & December to February – Best for gorilla trekking and game drives.
  • March to May & September to November – Wet seasons with lush scenery and fewer tourists, but some roads may be muddy.

Gorilla trekking requires moderate to high fitness levels, as the hike can last between 2 to 6 hours through steep and dense forests. Porters are available to help carry your bag and assist with challenging terrain.

Uganda is home to diverse wildlife, including mountain gorillas, chimpanzees, elephants, lions (including tree-climbing lions), leopards, giraffes, hippos, buffalo, zebras, antelopes, and over 1,000 bird species.

A yellow fever vaccination certificate is required for entry. Other recommended vaccinations include hepatitis A & B, typhoid, meningitis, and rabies. Malaria is present in Uganda, so anti-malarial medication is advised.
