After a warm welcome and a short pre-safari briefing, you’ll embark on a scenic drive towards Lake Manyara National Park. The journey takes approximately 2-3 hours, passing through Maasai villages, rolling hills, and lush farmland before reaching the park gate.

Morning Game Drive – Exploring Lake Manyara’s Wildlife

Lake Manyara is famous for its abundant wildlife, including elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, hippos, and the park’s rare tree-climbing lions. The thick forests also provide shade for baboons, blue monkeys, and colobus monkeys, making for excellent primate sightings.

Bird lovers will be delighted by the incredible birdlife surrounding the lake, including thousands of flamingos, pelicans, storks, and African fish eagles. The park is home to over 400 bird species, making it a paradise for birdwatching enthusiasts.

Lunch Break – Picnic with a View

Afternoon Game Drive & Hippo Pool Visit

In the afternoon, continue your game drive towards the Hippo Pool, where you can observe hippos cooling off in the water while enjoying sightings of more wildlife along the lakeshore. The area is also a hotspot for spotting warthogs, waterbucks, and numerous bird species. If you’re lucky, you may encounter the park’s legendary tree-climbing lions, often resting on acacia branches.
