Arrow Trekking and Safaris – Discover Africa’s top safari destinations with expertly crafted itineraries.
Sustainability is at the core of Arrow Trekking and Safaris’ operations. We are committed to responsible tourism that minimizes environmental impact, supports local communities, and preserves the natural and cultural heritage of the destinations we operate in. Our approach to sustainability is guided by ethical practices, conservation efforts, and sustainable business strategies that promote eco-friendly travel.
Protecting the delicate ecosystems in which we operate is a fundamental priority. From national parks and wildlife reserves to mountain trails and local communities, our sustainability initiatives are designed to minimize environmental impact while promoting responsible tourism.
Eco-Friendly Accommodations
Partnering with lodges, camps, and accommodations that prioritize sustainable practices is essential to our commitment to responsible tourism. We work with establishments that implement solar energy solutions, practice water conservation, and have efficient waste management systems to reduce their environmental footprint. By selecting eco-conscious accommodations, we ensure that our guests enjoy a comfortable stay while contributing to sustainability efforts.
Leave No Trace Policy
Educating travelers about responsible trekking and safari practices is a core part of our environmental responsibility. We emphasize the importance of proper waste disposal, ensuring that all trash is carried out from trekking routes and campsites. Wildlife should be observed from a respectful distance without disruption to their natural behavior. Additionally, we adhere to national park regulations and conservation guidelines to minimize our impact on the environment and preserve its pristine beauty for future generations.
Carbon Footprint Reduction
We actively encourage sustainable travel choices that reduce carbon emissions. Walking safaris, small group expeditions, and the use of fuel-efficient vehicles are just a few of the ways we strive to lower our environmental impact. Where possible, we integrate eco-friendly transport options and recommend carbon offset programs to further contribute to climate conservation efforts. By promoting responsible travel habits, we aim to leave a positive impact on the destinations we explore.
Protecting Africa’s rich biodiversity is a core pillar of our sustainability policy. Our approach to responsible tourism ensures that our activities do not harm wildlife or disrupt delicate ecosystems. By adhering to ethical wildlife viewing guidelines and collaborating with conservation organizations, we promote sustainable travel practices that benefit both nature and local communities.
No Wildlife Exploitation
We strictly oppose any form of wildlife exploitation and do not endorse or participate in activities that involve captive wildlife interactions. This includes petting zoos, unethical animal performances, or any tourism experiences that compromise the well-being of animals. Instead, we promote authentic wildlife encounters in their natural habitats, where animals are free to roam and behave naturally.
Responsible Game Viewing
Our safaris and guided tours follow strict national park regulations to ensure ethical wildlife observation. Our trained guides prioritize safety and conservation by maintaining appropriate distances from animals, avoiding unnecessary noise or disruption, and adhering to park-mandated visitor limits. We educate our guests on responsible wildlife etiquette, ensuring that every safari experience remains respectful to the animals and their environment.
Support for Conservation Efforts
We actively contribute to wildlife conservation initiatives, supporting anti-poaching campaigns, habitat restoration projects, and community-driven conservation programs. Through partnerships with local and international conservation organizations, we help fund and promote efforts to protect endangered species and restore fragile ecosystems. Our goal is to foster a travel culture that values preservation and ensures that future generations can continue to experience Africa’s incredible wildlife in its natural state.
Tourism plays a vital role in uplifting local communities and preserving cultural heritage. Our commitment to responsible tourism ensures that the benefits of travel extend beyond travelers and contribute positively to the communities we work with. We believe in ethical engagement that respects traditions, empowers local people, and fosters meaningful cultural exchanges.
Empowering Local Guides & Staff
Our trekking and safari experiences are led by highly trained local guides, porters, and support staff. By hiring from within the community, we create sustainable employment opportunities and invest in skill development. We provide fair wages, safe working conditions, and ongoing training to help our team enhance their expertise in guiding, hospitality, and conservation.
Supporting Local Businesses
We prioritize partnerships with locally owned lodges, camps, restaurants, and artisans. This approach ensures that tourism revenue stays within the community, contributing to economic growth and the well-being of local families. Whether it’s sourcing fresh produce from local farmers or recommending authentic handmade crafts, we encourage travelers to support businesses that sustain the region’s cultural and economic fabric.
Respect for Indigenous Cultures
Cultural tourism should be a respectful and enriching experience for both visitors and local communities. We educate our travelers on cultural etiquette, traditions, and the significance of local customs. When visiting villages or engaging with indigenous groups, we ensure interactions are ethical, voluntary, and free from exploitation. Our goal is to promote genuine cultural exchange while protecting the dignity and heritage of the communities we visit.
Sustainability is at the core of our operations, ensuring that our business practices align with environmental responsibility and ethical tourism principles. By integrating sustainable solutions into our daily operations, we minimize our ecological footprint while promoting responsible travel experiences.
Paperless Operations
We actively reduce paper waste by transitioning to digital solutions for bookings, itineraries, and communications. Clients receive electronic confirmations, e-tickets, and digital travel guides instead of printed materials. This not only helps conserve natural resources but also enhances efficiency and accessibility for travelers.
Reducing Single-Use Plastics
Plastic pollution poses a significant environmental challenge, particularly in remote wilderness areas. We encourage travelers to bring reusable water bottles and provide refill stations whenever possible. Additionally, we collaborate with accommodations and suppliers that minimize plastic waste, replacing single-use plastics with biodegradable or reusable alternatives.
Sustainability Training
Our commitment to sustainability extends to educating our staff, guides, and travelers. We provide training on responsible tourism practices, wildlife conservation, and eco-friendly operations. By fostering awareness, we empower our team and guests to make environmentally conscious choices that contribute to the long-term preservation of the destinations we explore.
Sustainability is an ongoing journey, and we are dedicated to continuously refining our practices to enhance our positive impact on the environment, wildlife, and local communities. Through regular evaluation, feedback, and adaptation, we strive to stay at the forefront of responsible tourism.
We actively monitor our sustainability initiatives, assessing their effectiveness and identifying areas for improvement. By engaging with conservation experts, local stakeholders, and travelers, we ensure that our policies remain relevant and impactful. We also stay informed about industry advancements and emerging best practices, integrating innovative solutions to reduce our environmental footprint and enhance ethical tourism standards.
Collaboration plays a key role in our commitment to improvement. We work with national parks, conservation organizations, and sustainable tourism networks to support broader environmental and community-driven initiatives. Through ongoing partnerships and participation in sustainability programs, we contribute to long-term positive change.
Additionally, we welcome feedback from our travelers, staff, and partners to refine our approaches and enhance the overall experience. By fostering a culture of accountability and continuous learning, we aim to set a high standard for eco-conscious trekking and safari operations. Our commitment ensures that future generations can continue to experience the breathtaking landscapes, rich biodiversity, and cultural heritage that make Africa a world-class destination.

Toby W2025-01-06Verified Highly recommend Sensational experience climbing to the summit of Kilii!10/10 would recommend Arrow Trekking.Great food, camping gear, and people! Vittal M2024-05-07Verified My family and I highly recommend! Thanks for the trip of a lifetime Arrow Trekking & Safaris driver, we met in Arusha and took off, traveling to Tarangire NP, Lake Eyasi, the Serengeti, the Ngorongoro Crater, Mount Meru, and Lake Natron before flying to Zanzibar. We experienced how the Hadzabe tribes live while on a day-long culture tour near Lake Eyasi; the highlights for that day included my sister getting "married" to a Hanzabe tribesman and our failure at using a bow. I was even able to buy one of the Hadzabe instruments with the help of Alex, our local guide. Also, according to Mr lsaack, we were super lucky, as we were witness to both a leopard eating in a tree and a lion using our vehicle as shade while traveling through the Serengeti. The time we spent in Tanzania was off-the-charts amazing and heaping in culture. Arrow Trekking $ Safaris is full of friendly staff, who are willing to work with budgetary restraints and add customizable additions to trips. My family and I highly recommend! Thanks for the trip of a lifetime Prajwal G2024-05-07Verified Amazing safari day was great Arrow Trekking & Safaris had offered plenty of activities during our trip in Tanzania such as an hot air balloon ride, visit to the local Masai village and of course the brilliant safari. Honestly, if you are debating on whether to come here, don’t and just come here. I cannot recommend this company enough. Imran N2024-05-05Verified That was very incredible! We traveled to the Serengeti, Kilimanjaro, and Zanzibar, all of which had the most incredible accommodations. We learned a great deal from this adventure. Which accommodation should we select? Which is the best option as they are all so different from one another? What time of day would be best to go? How many nights should we spend in each location? When planning an amazing safari, the little things matter most: travel dates, packing lists, bush aircraft, and distances. We heartily recommend Arrow Trekking and Safaris. Gavli G2024-05-04Verified We appreciate Arrow Trekking & Safaris for planning our day excursion. We appreciate Arrow Trekking & Safaris for planning our day excursion. Everything went exactly as planned, including the pickup from our Nungwi hotel and the shared charter aircraft to Mikumi from Zanzibar Airport. We saw elephants, buffalo, wildebeests, zebras, lions, leopards, and many other species at the park, including hippos in the swimming pool. There were numerous crocodiles and hippos present. We are generally pleased with their organization, and the cost was reasonable. We heartily urge everyone to use them when going on a day safari from Zanzibar Island. Dabhirajsinh D2024-05-03Verified Amazing experience In May 2024, our group of four members went on a safari and a Kilimanjaro climb with Isaack from Arrow Trekking. We had an amazing vacation, and the personnel took excellent care of us throughout. The value for the money was outstanding and the service was excellent. There was meticulous attention to detail, and everything was precisely customized to meet our wants and desires. Both the safari and the climb are excellent substitutes for the bigger, more established organizations that are based outside of Tanzania, in my opinion. It was a once-in-a-lifetime vacation, and we are thankful to Isaack and his crew for making it so amazing and unforgettable! Quinnetou2024-04-26Verified Arrows Safari Special Inner Crater, Summit Camp I have known Isaac for 15 years. We have climbed Kilimanjaro twice together. Machame Route and Lemosho Route (via Arrows Camp) each time to the Northern Icefields and Inner Crater. Hardly anyone else does that and it is an experience that brings tears to your eyes. He also arranges an overnight stay on the summit...,,As I work in Tanzania every year, I am in regular contact. We have become friends. Of course you give a friend a good rating. But I can separate the two. His service and reliability are excellent. His employees are friendly and helpful. Oliver Crombach2024-01-06Verified Brilliant crew made the trek a success I climbed Mt Kilimanjaro with arrow trekking and safari and it was excellent. Isaak was the perfect host, he organised everything and nothing was a problem. The hotel before and after were comfortable and in good location. The guides and crew were extremely knowledgeable and made the climb a success. I hired a few pieces of equipment that I needed and it was perfect for the trip. I have no hesitation in recommending Isaak and his team to anyone thinking of climbing Mt Kilimanjaro and might climb again when my children are older. Michael S2023-11-19Verified Great adventure! We arrived in Arusha without a Safari booked. After visiting 3 offices, we chose Arrow Trekking & Safaris. During the meeting, we chose one of the available scenarios and additionally modified it to suit our preferences. After a 4-day Safari, I can honestly recommend Isaack's office because: 1. He was flexible from start to finish, 2. We had a great car with an even better driver/guide (Apollo❤️), 3. Accommodation and meals were at a great level, 4. The chosen itinerary recommended by Isaack turned out to be the perfect one, 5. After returning, we had transport to the airport, 6. We felt safe and taken care of. I sincerely recommend Isaack and his office if you are planning a safari in Tanzania. You can text him on WhatsApp +255 788 500 333.
